The Works of Mevlana, Diwan-i Kabir Diwan-i Kabir consists of Mawlana's qasidas (an ancient Arabic poem, mostly tripartite, with a fixed thematic sequence), lyric poems, quatrains and other poems. It is possible to see Mawlana's emotional world in all those poems. Sometimes they are the cries of a heart that burns with pain, and sometimes are the songs of a heart that is in ecstasy with exuberance, excitement and love. While stating the divine love in his lyric poems, he is also telling us about his love for his friends who are the passengers of the same route. Some of these poems were recited for Salah al-Din al-Zarqubi and Khusam al-Din Chalabi, and mostly for Shams al-Din Tabrizi. Some writers called the Diwan al-Kabir as Diwan-i Shams-i Tabriz or Diwan-i Shams al-Hakayik due to the abundance of lyric poems which carry the pen name of Shams in it.
